Afro Samurai
by Namco
“Oh, look, everyone came dressed as their favorite character...guy who dies like a b*tch” says Samuel L. Jackson in the game Afro Samurai. Before I get into anything else about this game I’m going to tell you Samuel L. Jackson’s commentary is all throughout this game. If your a HUGE fan of Mr. Jackson and looking for a serious button masher this is a game for you. Since I only played the demo the voice acting is limited to 1 or 2 lines from the other characters and a whole lot of colorful language from Mr. Jackson.
Definately not a game I would play with my daughter next to me. Definately not a game I would play long since the camera never seems to focus on who your attacking or who is attacking you. That is unless you hit the focus button, which will allow you to target a specific enemy and use a slash attack against them.
Don’t get to excited, the focus buton is on a time limit and as soon as the time is up its guess who is cutting me in the back now time. To some it up it graphically looks good with the hand drawn, sketch style characters. Its nice and gory for those who like to slice every enemy in half or remove their head. The shaky camera makes for difficult and sometimes, more than not, fustrating game play. The music, which is inspired by the RZA from The Wu-Tang Clan, has
a style that matches the tone of the game. There is enough bad language in this game to make your ears bleed. I give this game 3 Max@Plays out of 7.
