Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

By Infinity Ward and Activision

I stood in line at Gamestop for 3 hours waiting for this game in 30 degree weather. I traded in Fallout 3 for this game. I put in vacation time so that I would have uninterrupted time to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. You might ask if it was really worth the hype put in to it. YES! This is hands down the best game to be released this year, and this comes after playing Batman Arkham Asylum.

Modern Warfare Screen ShotLike fine wine, this series has only improved with time. The game is graphically beautiful. There was detail put into every aspect of the game from the dust you kick up when you run to the hole in the wall after you snipe an enemy in the head. Yes, I had to be that graphic. The controls are pretty smooth, even though I’ve found some lag time when using my knife/melee weapon. Most of the guns have spot on accuracy and realistic firing mechanics. That means you can’t snipe someone with a desert eagle from 150 feet away.

Screen SHotsLets talk game modes for a second. We have 3 modes, Campaign, Multi-player, and Special OPS. The campaign mode is a single player event, boo, but the story pulls you in and is highly detailed with some new cast and some old favorites, “Welcome back SOAP!” The multi-player mode incorporates a level up system and as far as I can see, no matter how much you might suck at multi-player, you will receive exp that will allow you to level up. A new edition that I enjoy is Special OPS which allows you to team up with one other person for a mission separate from the story line with different conditions that need to be meet.

Long story short, this is an awesome game and you should expect to see some tips and tricks coming soon. Until then... “Stay Frosty” I give this game 7 Max@Play’s out of 7
