Momocon 2018

Hey gang! Sorry for the late notice, but we’ve been doing so much we forgot to preview and even tell you we have coverage of Momocon this year. Just to give you a little backstory and some info.

The event was founded in 2006 the convention was held at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The name of the con is based of a Japanese word “momo” meaning peaches and since MomoCon is held in Georgia, with its state fruit being a peach it was known as the “Peach State”. Over the next couple of years with tournaments, contests, events, and the selling of merchandise comics and other things that your typical nerd and geek would like to buy it expanded to a new location at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in 2012 which was the first year that an admission fee was required. There numbers have been growing in attendance ever since with 2017 have 30,000 registered attendees where the events take place at the Georgia World Congress Center and Omni Hotel Atlanta.

Guest who were there included Carey Means, (Aqua Teen Hunger Force) Chloé Hollings, (Overwatch) Sean Schemmel, (Dragon Ball Z) AllieCat Cosplay, Cyanide and Happiness, Barbara Goodson, (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and CAPCOM LIVE!

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Next year’s dates have already been announced: May 23, 2018 – May 26, 2019 and tickets are on sale now.
