Video game Dads that go the extra mile for their kids
Welcome back fellow gamers! Team Max@Play wanted to take a moment to applaud some of video games best Dads. For this list, Dads are defined as blood parent, adopted or father figure for their child or children. Some of the fathers on this list have less than desirable qualities in parents but either become a better one in the end or go above and beyond for their kids.
10. Harry Mason – Silent Hill – Any father that would travel to a place like Silent Hill to save their daughter deserves a spot on this list
9. Rost – Horizon: Zero Dawn – His training of his daughter during the tutorial and the events that followed set the tone for an amazing experience.
8. Asura – Asura’s Wrath – Talk about a Dad willing to go through hell and high water, this demi god literally moved heaven and earth.
7. Barry Burton – Resident Evil and Resident Evil Revelation – Even though Barry had some suspicious moments, and very off voice acting, the risks he took to protect his wife and daughter out shine it all.
6. Eli Vance – Half Life 2 – He’s a freaking scientist but more importantly he’s one of the most emotionally competent father on this list. He even built a robot dog to protect his daughter.
5. Kratos – God of War (2018) – His less than stellar beginning and rough treatment of his new son became a new love and affection as Kratos opened up more.
4. Kazuma Kiryu – Yakuza – This Yakuza gang member went from being a stone cold killer to running an entire orphanage.
3. Joel – The Last of Us – After losing his daughter it was difficult for him to open up but before the end of the game Joel had rediscovered his fatherhood nature and love with Elle
2. Lee Everette – The Walking Dead – Lee is another one that made a few mistakes in the beginning but after finding Clemintine, his love and need to teach and protect her was undeniable.
Geralt of Rivia – The Witcher – Perfect example of being an awesome adoptive father, teaching and protecting Siri while building a meaningful relationship.
Honorable Mention
Victor “Sully” Sullivan – Uncharted – treasure hunter, fortune seeker, and businessman, as well as a friend, one-time mentor and father figure of fellow treasure hunter Nathan Drake.
