It’s game time Ohayocon
Welcome back esports fanatics! Team Max@Play will be in the house for Ohayocon’s Melty Blood fighting game tournament. It kicks off Sunday at 3pm so make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes early to register and get a good seat.
MELTY BLOOD: Type Lumina is a 2D fighting game and the fifth installment of Tsukihime fighting game series Melty Blood. It was released worldwide on September 30, 2021 for the Switch, PS4, XBOX One and PC. The story takes place in 2010s, ten days before the events of the visual novel, unlike the earlier entries in the Melty Blood series set in 2001, a year after a hypothetical Satsuki Yumizuka route of original Tsukihime and a month after Kagetsu Tohya. Although some of the characters’ storyline alternatively takes place during Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-, Type Lumina does not have an overarching story with a single point of view; instead, each character has their own Story Mode that consists of multiple stages, with select encounters accompanied by conversations presented in a visual novel style, and an ending sequence.
The cost of entering this event is included in your Ohayocon badge and allows you in every other tournament taking place this weekend. There are no preliminaries or skill level separations so bring your “A” game. Actual tournament rules can be found on the Ohayocon website here. https://ohayocon.org/policies/console/ Here are some quick notes:
- 32 player cap
- Best 2 of 3 games, best 2 of 3 rounds per game until 8 players remain
- Final 8 players run best 3 of 5
- Winner must keep character
- Loser may switch character
This is the last tournament of the convention and the rarest game on the list. Team Max@Play is excited to see who is going to break out Fate/Stay Night Anime favorite, Saber. Saber is 1 of 3 knight classes summoned as a servant to fight in the Holy Grail War. If you are unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night check out this fight.
Let get into the Esports Arena and have a great time. Thanks for checking out Max@Play.
