Nintendo Direct 9.13.22 Recap
In normal Nintendo fashion we got a full blown direct in September and it was full of announcements and updates so we compiled a quick breakdown of what was shown off starting with new games then ports and updates
Start the show off was Fire Emblem Engage the next entry in the franchise which seem to let you call on the powers from characters from the pervious games to aid you.
Story of Season: a wonderful life the new entry in the not Harvest Moon series
Octopath traveler 2: A sequel to the first Octopath with a fresh cast and split abilities depending on if you use them during the day or night
Fae farm A farming simulation game with a fairy like twist
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line: Another entry in the Final Fantasy rhythm games showcasing more music from the series along with some other songs from other Square Enix series as paid dlc
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key was revealed proptenly closing out the Secret trilogy along with showing off the four main characters from the last Ryza game, a new battle system was shown and telling us their will be 11 playable characters.
Pikmin 4: was shown off and talked about again after what felt like a decade of waiting. Outside of a screenshot from a Pikmin perspective and a release window of 2023 that’s all that was revealed.
Just dance 2023: The yearly Just Dance game was shown off, just telling us that it will have all year modes but not going into detail about what the modes are.
Games that will be getting ports to the switch
Radiant Slivergun: was shadow dropped from what was shown it seems like a bullet hell style game, with a color mechanic. (At the time of writing the game has been removed from the North American Eshop)
Various Daylife: what seemed like a new game from square turned out to be a mobile game port with a minor face lift. From what was shown off it seems to be a daily life sim with a rpg built around it.
It takes Two: From the studio that made Brothers and A Way Out, a new co op adventure games makes it way onto the switch in the form of marriage counseling.
Fatal frame: The start of the fatal frame series makes its debut on switch, having you snap pictures of ghost to get your memoires back.
SpongeBob Cosmic Shake: Not so much as a port but a multi platform release comes another 3D collectathon but this time with 30+ outfits and the cast from the show voicing the characters.
Tunic: The not Zelda, not Okami cute creature adventure game comes to switch after being stuck on PC and other consoles for a few months
Front Mission: For those of you still waiting on Advance Wars, front mission is here to sate you with tactics and mechs.
Rune Factory 3: Rune Factory makes its farm sim/rpg return to switch after the success of 5, along with the addition of being able to change into certain monster to change story beats.
Factorio: The mining and resource management sim crash lands on switch
ib: In a bold move the indie survival horror comes to switch
Resident Evil 2,3,7, and 8 all crawl their way onto switch in cloud versions which require a constant high speed internet connection to play
Sifu: Leaving it PS5 exclusivity deal Sife kicks its way onto the switch
Life is Strange Arcadia Bay: Collection will be coming to switch
Tales of Symphonia Remastered: will be coming to switch
Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song is getting a remaster to fall in line with the other Romancing SaGa games
Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe: As a part of Kirby’s 35th anniversary another Kirby game gets a switch port.
Games that got updates
Xenoblade 3: The next part of the season pass was revealed to be a new hero class and challenge mode akin to the challenge mode in Xenoblade 2 costumes and all
Sparks of Hope: We got to see a few more in games mechanics like exploring town and how different sparks can effect things in battle along with a Gold Edition for the game.
Mario Strikers: will be getting Pauline and Diddy Kong along side a new stage
Mario 8 deluxe: got two of its new courses shown off [ Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS]
Nintendo Sports: will have it’s golf update out a little later than initially intended, now coming out in the winter
Harvestella: showed us more of the world the game takes place in, along with releasing a demo that with carry over into the main game
Bayonetta 3: had a new combat update in another trailer
Enigma Archives: RAIN CODE: got it’s first proper trailer after being teased 9 months ago
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion: got a release date of Dec 13th
Then Sony decided it wanted some attention and held a State of Play the same day with it’s own brand of huge and interesting releases.
The first on being Tekken 8 only a month after it’s teaser at Evo.
Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge coming to PS VR2.
Demeo a mix of DND and card fighting will make it home on the PS VR2.
Hogwarts Legacy is getting a PlayStation exclusive quest.
Pacific Drive, a horror driving game from Ironwood Studios making their debut.
Bandai Namco showed off their next project in Synduality a 3rd shooter reminident to those parts of Nier Automata
Project Eve got got an official name drop as Stellar Blade.
Team Ninja revealed their next project sticking to the eastern aesthetic with Rise of the Ronin a PS5 excusive.
RGG Studios finally stopped teasing their western fans and showed off Like a Dragon: Ishin.
Closing out the show was a new “story” trailer for God of War Ragnarok.
