What We know about The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim


After a long drought we finally have some news on the new The Lord of The Rings anime series in the form of a voice cast reveal. Miranda Otto (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will return to Middle Earth as Éowyn, while Brain Cox (Sucession) will be taking the role of Helm Hammerhand the King of Rohan, and rounding out the reveal is Gaia Wise playing the role of princess Hera. While additional voice talents will be portrayed by: Lorraine Ashbourne (Netflix’s Bridgerton), Yazdan Qafouri (I Came By), Benjamin Wainwright (BBC One’s World on Fire), Laurence Ubong Williams (Gateway), Shaun Dooley (The Witcher), Michael Wildman (Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Jude Akuwudike (Beasts of No Nation), Bilal Hasna (Sparks) and Janine Duvitski (Benidorm)


The plot of the movie with be, a devastating attack by Wulf, a Dunlending lord, vowing revenge for the death of his father, compels Helm and his people to make a final gambit in the ancient stronghold of Hornburg which will later become Helm’s Deep. With all hope lost Hera must summon the courage to lead her people to rally against Wulf and the army seeking their complete destruction.
The movie will take place between Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power set to come out later this year and 183 years before the original The Lord of The Rings trilogy. Sola Entertainment will be helming the animation for the movie, with plans to distribute it in theaters worldwide April 12, 202
