5 New Videogame Movies Coming in 2018

2018 is loaded with tons of action-packed, awe-inspiring films, including but not limited to the entire Marvel Studios catalog. Today we’re taking a look at movies based on video games, either a particular series or the life and times of video game players. This video is brought to you by our friends at Outside Xbox. They have tons of list and awesome gameplay videos and we thank them for letting us use this video. Hollywood is notorious for just releasing game based movies all willy-nilly, like Dead or Alive which if you missed it you’re lucky. How can we forget House of the Dead? How do you create a horror movie based on a horror rail shooter and never show any actual horror? Then you have series that start off so well like Resident Evil and over the course of time turn into Resident Evil Extinction which was…er… Action packed?! Well, the movies in this video look amazing and give us hope that 2018 will be a year full of awesome movies about our favorite pastime.

Just to highlight some things, “Ready Player One”, based on the novel of the same name, is directed by Steven Spielberg and is already looking like our top pick. Rampage looks really good but begs the question, “Does Dwayne Johnson pilot aircrafts in every movie now?” Think about it for a minute and let us know in the comment section. We’re also wondering how he feels about being called “The Rock”? It might be some copyright issues involved there. The only cartoon on this list is probably the only one that was decent as far as cartoons about video games go and that’s Ralph Breaks the Internet, Wreck it Ralph 2. We don’t know anything about the story yet but if it’s anything like the last one its worth a trip to the movies.
