Hearts 3 has arrived ushering in the first of many highly anticipated games being released in 2019. Even though it’s titled 3, there have been a number of remixes that added to the lore of this amazing franchise. With such an immense story and long-running history getting into it and being lost may be a fear, but we can assure you that even if it’s your first time with the series or missed a few games in between you can jump into 3 and feel right at home. Each world puts Sora, Donald and Goofy into that particular movie series, even going as far as changing their skins and weapon palettes to fit each board.

While interacting with NPCs they will clue you into the situation and about the world, so don’t worry if you’re a bit rusty on your Little Mermaid or haven’t seen every single Aladdin movie. Visually, the game takes advantage of the full of the hardware inside the Xbox One and PS4 running a full 4k at 60fps. This installment features a lot of locations from Pixar films so they were on board for character and level design. Imagine the immersion of actively being in Andy’s bedroom from Toy Story leading an army of toy soldiers. Speaking of an army, the cast list here is so massive it rivals the selection for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Not to mention, we will see some notable guest appearances from Final Fantasy cast coming through. With the expansion in the cast, we also have an increase in your party size.

Traditionally your party consisted of Sora, Donald, and Goofy, switching out your Disney characters for level specific party members. This time around the party size has been bumped up to 5 allowing you add to your party. The combat system has also been spruced up to keep the momentum going when issuing commands and using the new parkour style fighting movement. There is also new team up attacks, summons, and upgrades allowing players to power up their key blades. The story picks up with the gang searching for the 7 Guardians of Light to battle Master Xehanort and Organization 13 who have been responsible for the tragedies throughout the story on his quest for balance. Fans are hoping to see finally see this epic battle come to a head. Check out this awesome “before you buy” video for more details and awesome gameplay.
